The role in brief:
Our client, one of Ireland’s largest and most successful ICT solutions and services providers with a 40-year history of technological innovation, is currently seeking a hardware-passionate apprentice to join their experienced team in Enniscorthy, Wexford.
This entry-level role offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to progress in either customer service management or technical support engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for technology and a desire to build a long-term career in the dynamic IT industry.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
– Workshop and Hardware Repairs: This entails conducting diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair work on IT hardware such as laptops, printers, PCs, servers, etc., as necessary within the workshop.
– Assist in maintaining control of workshop stock and equipment, as well as parts required for field service calls.
– Hardware: Configuration and Bench Repairs (Workshop): This involves completing preparatory change requests to personal computing hardware before customer dispatch, including imaging and memory upgrades, as well as conducting bench repairs and spare parts preparation for both print and personal computing lines.
– Installation of Print & Personal Computing Hardware: This role supports senior or consultant engineers assigned to new hardware deployments and refresh projects by setting up and staging hardware, including both print and personal computing lines.
– Field/Onsite Print Technical Support: Provides end-user technical support, both through helpdesk services and field-based assistance, focusing on print technologies at customer locations as part of the Managed Print Solution.
– Preventative Maintenance Service Calls: Conducts proactive customer site visits to perform regular maintenance on devices, including replacing cyclical long-life consumables (e.g., fusers, transfer belts) and conducting routine diagnostic checks to preempt future issues with devices.
This role will suit you if:
- You are based in Enniscorthy, Wexford Co.
- Full driving licence essential (Manual car)
- Relevant IT degree or equivalent.
- 1 year’ experience in a similar support role is desirable.
- Previous experience with Print Fleet Management & Managed Print Services software such as SafeCom, Jet Advice or similar is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience working with Office 365 – Firewalls / Switch knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience working with Windows operation systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Communication skills essential.
