We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Apprentice to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced industrial environment. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification through the SOLAS apprenticeship programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Support senior technicians in diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing solutions.
- Operate and maintain tools and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Participate in scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Attend off-the-job training phases as required by the apprenticeship programme.
Job requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum of Junior Certificate or equivalent; Leaving Certificate preferred.
- Strong interest in mechanical systems and engineering.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and complete the SOLAS apprenticeship programme.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to health and safety practices.
Desirable:
- Previous work experience in a mechanical or industrial setting (e.g., summer job, TY placement).
- Familiarity with hand tools and workshop equipment.
