Barbelle Health is a community oriented gym located in Piercestown, Co. Wexford.

Our mission is a bit different to other facilities: We aim to enable our members to dance on tables all the way into their 90s and smile confidently in photos with loved ones.

This means providing first class, holistic health coaching which shifts the focus away from appearance-based goals, before-and-after pictures, and “transformations”.

The Candidate

We are now looking to extend our team by hiring either a full-time coach or two part-time coaches who will run small group training sessions, high intensity classes and provide off-floor nutrition and accountability to members in line with the Barbelle ethos.

Our new coach will have a qualification such as personal trainer / strength & conditioning coach / group exercise instructor etc. and ideally, will have some work experience although this is not essential.

You will need some understanding of exercise modification and will be taught how to adhere to the Barbelle Modification Framework.

You yourself must be competent at barbell & dumbbell lifts and be able to demonstrate these to members with excellent form.

Nutrition & Accountability Coaching: While some prior knowledge / experience is preferred, Barbelle will provide training in this realm in line with our company values.

The successful candidate will, above all else, possess a non-judgemental air, friendly tone and remain upbeat, encouraging, and compassionate with all members. We aim to have laughter and conversation in every session and as leader of the session, you play an integral role in maintaining the atmosphere.

We expect the successful candidate to coach our members in-line with our body positive values. This means we never promote Before and After Transformations; or speak, advertise or generate content that stigmatises certain body sizes.

The successful applicant will be required to uphold high standards of cleanliness and as such, some housekeeping will form part of most shifts.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: €15.00 per hour
