Youth New Ross CLG (YNR) is a registered charity and was founded in 1994 by a group of dedicated professionals for the benefit of young people, and their families in New Ross and the surrounding area. Today, YNR has grown to employ over 20 staff and volunteers and works with children and families across South Co. Wexford. We receive funding from a variety of statutory sources and comply with the Charities Regulator.
About the Role:
YNR are recruiting an Accounts Technician to join their vibrant team. This person will be responsible for preparing accounts, financial reports, budget allocation, banking reconciliation and financial compliance. The role requires a complete understanding of the grants / funding model for Irish Charities, SORP and financial compliance. The right person will be competent and confident in preparing for audits internal and external, and will understand Financial Controls, ensuring proper procedures are in place and adhered to.
Essentials: competency in SORP, Sage, preparing projections and variance reports and an Accounts Technician Qualification.
The Person
It is absolutely essential that the person is experienced in working in a sensitive environment and used to working in a discreet and confidential manner.
Past experience working in a similar environment would be of a distinct advantage but not essential.
The person will need to be self-motivating, have excellent time management skills, be able to prioritise tasks, retrieve information from others and communicate well with a wide range of professional stakeholders.
You will be reporting to the CEO with whom you will work closely on budgets and planning. You must be capable of communicating issues, and risks to the organisation, and propose appropriate solutions.
Qualifications and Skills for the Role
· Fully qualified Accounts Technician
· Proven financial/accounting experience – minimum 3 years
· Understanding and/or experience in SORP
· Understanding and/or experience in Complex Charity Compliance (Charities Regulator)
· Strong computer and analytical skills and proficiency in using Microsoft and Sage accounting.
· Payroll experience desirable.
- Effective communicator in both verbal and written communications.
- Structured, analytical, systematic, and independent way of working.
- Ability to prioritise parallel tasks, identify potential risk and roadblocks and initiate appropriate counter measures.
Salary: €18K for 2.5 days with 18 hours deliverable weekly
