Wave Dynamics (www.wdacoustics.com) is seeking a motivated Field Technician to join our growing environmental monitoring and acoustics team.

This hybrid role can be based from our Wexford office. Candidates based in Wexford should be willing to travel regularly to projects in Dublin and across Ireland.

About the Role

The Field Technician will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, collection and management of environmental monitoring equipment across a wide range of project sites.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working both outdoors and in a technical environment, with a mixture of site-based and office-based duties.

Key responsibilities will include:

Installing, maintaining and retrieving environmental monitoring equipment

Undertaking site inspections and surveys

Supporting consultants with data collection and monitoring programmes

Managing equipment inventory and calibrations

Processing and quality-checking monitoring data

Preparing survey documentation and field records

Assisting with technical reporting and project administration

Working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Minimum Requirements

Full clean driving licence

Strong organisational and time-management skills

Ability to work independently and take initiative

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Ireland

Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety

Desired Qualifications & Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

Diploma or degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction, Geography, Acoustics or a related discipline

Experience working on construction sites or undertaking field-based monitoring

Experience with sound level meters, vibration monitors, dust monitors or other environmental monitoring equipment

Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification

Irish Sound Testing Registration Scheme (ISTRS/SITRI) certification

Experience working with environmental or monitoring data

Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Deployment and collection of environmental noise loggers

Deployment and collection of vibration monitoring equipment

Deployment and collection of dust and air quality monitoring equipment

Attended environmental noise surveys

Building acoustic testing and sound insulation testing

Site inspections and condition surveys

Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance

Data & Reporting

Downloading and processing monitoring data

Data quality assurance and validation

Assisting with the preparation of technical reports

Maintaining accurate survey records and documentation

Updating monitoring templates and procedures

Equipment Management

Managing calibration schedules

Maintaining monitoring equipment and accessories

Tracking equipment availability and deployment schedules

Preparing equipment for site installations

Health & Safety

Preparing site-specific risk assessments and method statements

Ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times

Maintaining compliance with company quality and safety procedures
