Laboratory Analyst

We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Analyst position. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, full-time role. This role is based in our Quality team at our Wexford factory in Ireland and reports to the Laboratory Shift Manager.

Outline of the Role:

The Laboratory Analyst will manage all activities within the Laboratory ensuring all goals and targets are met within Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation & Environment parameters. They will practice the principles and philosophies of the Danone Continuous Improvement Programme – rapid recognition and resolution of problems, zoning, problem solving. The laboratory analyst will work with all members of the Laboratory team to complete laboratory duties that deliver the highest quality results within QC Lead time.

More job duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Timely reporting of any issues affecting Safety or Quality in the Laboratory
  • Adherence to laboratory procedures at all times
  • Collection of laboratory samples from production areas
  • Generation of laboratory sample reports
  • Organisation and weighing of samples
  • Testing of samples according to documented test methods
  • Reporting out of specification results or any results deviating from normal, repeat testing and trending
  • Environmental Monitoring and support to Operations as requested
  • Waste management, control of chemicals
  • Lab investigations including Incident Reports and Non-Conformance Reports
  • Proficiency testing
  • Participating in Daily SIM meeting, SAT meetings and relevant PSGs
  • Procedure writing and updating
  • Verification and validation of methods
  • Calibration of balances and/or other equipment
  • Report writing
  • Carry out other miscellaneous tasks as required.

ABOUT YOU

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in Science field such as Microbiology, Chemistry and/or General Science.
  • 1-2 years’ experience of working in a fast-paced laboratory, preferably in an FMCG, Manufacturing or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, in particular, Excel, Powerpoint and Word with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
