Sulzer Pump Solutions Ireland Ltd, (SPIRL) is part of the Flow Equipment (FE) division of Sulzer specializes in pumping solutions to meet our customers. With our onsite global design team, we engineer, manufacture and test products and solutions that support water recycling in a sustainable energy efficient way. Having over 50 years of design and manufacturing experience in Wexford, we are proud our products have a history of working hard to keep keeping our local and global water infrastructure clean.

We’re seeking a skilled Procurement Professional to join our Wexford team and drive our growth. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting site manufacturing operations and achieving strategic objectives by leveraging your strong purchasing expertise, commercial acumen, and deep SAP knowledge.

We are looking for a/an Buyer  to join our FE_WIBU  team in Ireland .

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

  • Procurement Strategy: Implement and execute purchase and inventory strategies for components, addressing ERP (SAP) exception messages.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all purchases align with global and local procurement policies.
  • Data Management: Manage Material Master and Supplier Data (info record accuracy, setup, and obsolescence processes).
  • Communication: Communicate critical items timely to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., tier meetings).
  • Issue Escalation: Proactively escalate supply issues and constraints to senior management.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead and support local and global strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Cost Optimization: Initiate, drive, and support cost-saving and lead-time reduction activities.
  • Digitalization: Support and drive our digitalization journey.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor on-time in-full (OTIF) performance to meet targets.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with strategic and operational procurement teams, including Category Management, and report on Category performance on own portfolio.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide monthly dashboard reports on portfolio performance, including key KPIs (inventory, PPV, OTIF, LT, MRP, SS, and CI activity).
  • Supplier Relationships: Lead quarterly business reviews with key suppliers.
  • Cost Optimization: Support PPV optimization by understanding variances and implementing cost-saving actions.

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar procurement role.
  • Advanced SAP expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong commercial acumen including sourcing experience
  • Knowledge on Contract Management is desirable but not mandatory
  • Proven ability to foster and drive a continuous improvement culture.
  • Excellent work ethic and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Educational Background required:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
  •  CPIM or APICS certification is a preferred asset.
